The RHS Chelsea Flower Show has returned. For the first time in the show's history, it's being held in September as opposed to May, and we have to say we are rather loving the autumnal airing of this wonderful celebration. With the press, royalty and celebrity VIPs being let through the floral gates on opening day this week, we've seen chic knitted dresses, pale shades of green, apt floral dresses and an abundance of soft pink.
While there's no dress code for the Chelsea Flower Show, there are a few things to consider to help you make the most of your day at this quintessentially English event.
You can't count on the English weather. September can be a real mixed bag on the meteorological front, so wearing layers such as a cardi or blazer that you can easily pop on and off while you're walking is a smart choice.
Wear shoes that will go the distance. You'll be adding thousands to your step count as you walk around the displays so stylish and reliable is what you need. A pretty pair of flats, wedges or a mid-rise heel that you know you can last all day in are the best option.
Floral prints and either bright colours, or pretty muted shades - which are so on point this season - are in keeping with the celebratory sense of occasion that Chelsea brings. Botanical themes in your jewellery and accessories lend an additional element of fun to your look.
Finally, pack an umbrella just in case!
