Pleats have been a favourite for a few years now, and they were still very much a fixture on the AW20 catwalks, often paired with knits, but also with blazers to make a skirt suit. Miu Miu, Michael Kors and several others showed off their skirt suits. Whatever’s on top, tie the look together with a slim belt to bring attention to that waist and you’re all set.

Blouses always look classic, chic and feminine. For autumn we love pairing them with leather skirts and boots or leather trousers for a fabulously confident vibe. This look also addresses two key trends for this season. Big collars are a focus, owing to the fact that video calls are part of daily life for many of us now so dressing up from the waist has become a new style consideration. Nothing says ‘listen to me’ like a statement collar! The second trend is leather and faux leather, which is always an autumn staple, but it’s dominated the scene this year.

The AW20 catwalks were teeming with cinched in waists, be it on dresses with knits, full leather coats or tweed blazers.
