A Parisienne's guide to the most romantic spots in Paris

Paris regularly tops the list as one of the most romantic cities in the world and it's easy to see why. Evening walks along the Seine, the Eiffel Tower glittering with 20,000 lights by night, the museums packed with old masters and little winding streets over-looked by elegant Haussman architecture - few can resist Paris' charm. Want to know the best romantic spots in Paris, direct from a Parisienne? Here are my personal favourites. All you need to do now is book a ticket!

The bridges
No visit to Paris is complete without taking a stroll along with one of its many beautiful bridges. They beg to be lingered on and offer a great spot for a photo with your love. My favourites are Pont Arcole and Pont des Arts, located at a stunning spot along the Seine that links the Institut de France and the central square of the Palais du Louvre.

The parks
Lovers can lose themselves in the many green sanctuaries that make up Paris' parks. My favourites are Jardin de Bagatelle, which is where I live, and Parc Monceau which has inspired many artists including Monet.

The museums
Museums might not be an obvious romantic destination, but in Paris, it works! The whimsical, nostalgic museums never fail to leave you starry-eyed. My personal favourites are Musée Rodin - dedicated to the works of the French sculptor Auguste Rodin - and Musée de la vie Romantique which transports you back to the 1800s and houses art, literature, jewellery and a plaster cast of Chopin’s hand.

The brunch place
Brunch is big in Paris and a must-do while you're there. One of my favourite places is Café Lapérouse, recently refurbished with the most exquisite decor. The breakfasts are sumptuous and legendary.
